COMPOSE: A Multifunctional Space for Creative Minds

Michael Tu's Award-Winning Design Fosters Collaboration and Innovation

In a world where resources are often scarce, Michael Tu's design, COMPOSE, offers a solution for young designers seeking a space to bring their ideas to life. This multifunctional working space, inspired by the concept of shared resources, provides a platform for collaboration, creativity, and the realization of dreams.

COMPOSE is not just a workspace, but a micro-public space for speeches, exhibitions, reading, activities, creativity, and cooperation. It is a space that is both aesthetic and intelligent. The design's unique properties include its openness, facilitated by low obstructions, and its ability to connect the indoor scenery with the streetscape. This openness is a testament to the design's core principle of shared resources and collaboration.

The design was realized using materials such as iron, marble, paint, super wear-resistant floor, and woven rug. It covers an area of 661 square meters, providing ample space for various activities. The project was started in April 2017 and completed in January 2018 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

One of the major challenges faced during the design process was striking a balance between openness and privacy. The goal was to blur the boundaries while maintaining the original function of each space. This required careful planning and innovative design solutions to ensure spatial differentiation and connectivity.

COMPOSE has been recognized for its innovative design and contribution to the design industry. It was awarded the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The award is a testament to the design's technical characteristics, artistic skill, and level of excellence.

All images of the design were captured by LDK Photography Studio. The design is tagged as a co-working space, open office, and subtropical countries' space, reflecting its multifunctional nature and its location in Taiwan.

In conclusion, COMPOSE is a testament to the power of shared resources and collaboration. It is a space that fosters creativity, innovation, and the realization of dreams. It is a design that truly embodies the spirit of the modern design industry.
